🌟 Additional Recruitment Opportunity for PVA Chair Position

The Pacific Collegiate School (PCS) Board of Directors is conducting an additional, targeted recruitment to identify a candidate to serve as Parent Volunteer Association (PVA) Chair as part of provisional Board service.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in board service who bring strong community engagement, volunteer coordination, or fundraising experience.

🎯 About the PVA Chair Role

The PVA Chair serves in a leadership role within the Parent Volunteer Association, a committee overseen by the Head of School that plays a critical role in supporting the PCS community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading monthly PVA meetings with parent volunteers

  • Collaborating regularly with the Head of School and Development Director

  • Supporting coordination of volunteers across school programs and events

  • Helping oversee community-building efforts and parent engagement

  • Supporting fundraising initiatives that directly benefit students and programs

The PVA supports:

  • Student clubs and extracurricular activities

  • Athletics and class-based funding (e.g., prom)

  • Faculty appreciation and community events

  • School wish list items and enrichment opportunities not covered by core funding



🎉 Signature Event: BASH (Building a Scholastic Heritage)

A major component of this role includes supporting BASH, PCS’s annual gala fundraiser.

This year’s event will be held at the Cowell Ranch Hay Barn on Saturday, May 2 from 4:00–10:00 PM.

BASH includes a silent auction, food, drinks, and live music, and is a central fundraising and community event for PCS.


⏱️ Commitment & Expectations

Board service is a working role. In alignment with existing expectations (approximately 20+ hours per month), the PVA Chair role may require a comparable or slightly increased level of engagement depending on the time of year.

Additional expectations include:

  • Willingness to serve as PVA Chair for at least 2 of the 3 years of board service

  • Active participation in Board meetings and committee work

  • Collaboration with school leadership and parent volunteers

Selected candidates will have the opportunity to:

  • Shadow the current PVA Chair

  • Attend BASH and upcoming meetings

  • Transition into the role with support from an established team


📅 Nominations Process for PVA Chair Recruitment

  • Application Deadline: Friday, April 10, 2026, by 11:59 p.m. PST

  • The nominations committee will review submissions and notify selected applicants by: Monday, April 13, 2026

  • Interview Date/Location: TBD

Following interviews:

  • Selected candidates may be recommended for provisional Board service, consistent with the standard process outlined above

  • Provisional members participate as non-voting members for approximately 3–4 months prior to a Board vote
