Who is Julie Wilson our new Development Director at PCS? She is not coming to PCS straight from a family business making tennis balls, because there is no relation there. She does have a distant relation involved with "Lays" potato chips though. Julie came to Santa Cruz from San Diego originally to attend UCSC. Discovering that she much preferred living in Santa Cruz to Southern California, she went into sales operations at Adobe. After a while, she returned to school, where she earned her Master's in Counseling and Psychology. Then, she and her husband, now of 21 years, had their son, Jack, and she became a full-time mother for a while. They are still raising their son Jack with three dogs: Posey the Retriever named after the baseball player, Nash the crafty Catahoula named after the singer, and Sophie the Terrier that acts like an endearing animal from a horror film. Deciding to add another full-time job onto mothering, she started doing development work for schools where she and much of her close family have spent their careers. Ultimately, she was recruited to do development work for PCS. If you have not met Julie, swing by her office! She is located between the Registrar and Directed Studies. And while she was never involved in making potato chips, she is thoughtfully chipper. She has a kind and caring presence that suits her new role at PCS perfectly. We are lucky to have her.
