Jared Leake as our Art, Studio Art and AP Studio Art teacher. Jared is truly a “bi-coastal” American as he grew up and attended college on the east coast where he also did some teaching. Jared completed a BA at Wheelock College in Boston, MA, and an MA in Education at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. Between his BA and MA, Jared spent time on many adventurous endeavors including working at an eco-resort in the Virgin Islands and being a working ski-bum in Utah.
Jared visited the “left coast” as an adolescent when attending a family member’s wedding in Carmel. He was hooked, and knew someday he would get here to live. That he did years later. Jared is an avid outdoors man who loves travel and has a particular passion for the desert. Jared has been married just over a year and that is a great story…ask him! He comes to us after having worked for eight years at Pinewood School in Los Altos; he has a keen understanding of students enrolled in a program of academic rigor.
Jared joins Demetra Messolaras to provide our students with exciting new perspectives on what it means to be a student of art. Jared encourages students to create their own vision(s) and by doing so to develop themselves into good people. He likes to promote mixed media and to help students develop their individual, expressive creations.
