Léna works with English Language Learners at Pacific Collegiate School, where she graduated in the Class of 2011.
She has worked as a reporter and as the Assistant News Editor for The Santa Barbara Independent. She was a Volunteer Mentor & Service Learning Intern at Renaissance High School, an alternative school near Watsonville.
Since 2016, she has copy edited and written curriculum for the Los Angeles-based literary journal and educator’s resource Literature for Life. She now serves as the journal’s Managing Editor.
She has a B.A. in Literature from UC Santa Barbara’s College of Creative Studies and a minor in Professional Editing. Her poem, “Ceiling,” was published in Vagabond City Literary Journal.
When she’s not supporting students, Léna enjoys exploring the Bay Area, staying active, and watching TV shows from the ’90s, Twin Peaks and The X-Files among her favorites.
