Pacific Collegiate School’s community service requirement engages students in a variety of public service, inspiring responsibility, empathy and personal growth. This part of our school’s culture is crucial for providing paths toward skills and knowledge that lie outside the standard school curriculum, as well as motivating students to consider and act upon issues of social justice and civic responsibility.
Through community service we hope to foster a commitment to a lifetime of effective participation in public life. The community service program promotes and provides students with structured opportunities, fostering collaborative relationships with individuals, organizations and schools that address problems and build upon assets of local and global communities.
We encourage students to find volunteer opportunities that excite them, in the hopes that they can find organizations and initiatives that inspire their college decisions, career choices and life goals. PCS intends to foster a culture of community support, and so we highly encourage parents and staff to join the students in making volunteer work a part of our lives every year.
