Chelsea Ching by Dr. Katie Merchant, Director of Special Education, School Psychologist
Chelsea grew up in Kaneohe, Hawaii, and attended Iolani School, graduating in 2006. By pure coincidence, this just happens to be Mr. Harrison’s Alma Marta, but from many moons prior. At the age of 17, Chelsea moved to the mainland where she played volleyball & water polo and attended college at Azusa Pacific University. In the Spring of 2010, she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies.
Chelsea is at the beginning of her teaching career, with high aspirations of gaining greater knowledge and experience in the field of Special Education. This is Chelsea’s second year with Pacific Collegiate, as the Instructional Assistant within the Resource Specialist Program, serving students in grades 7 through 12. She collaborates and teams with Ms. Dennis and Dr. Merchant in providing direct academic, emotional and behavioral support to students in and out of the classroom. She is excited for the opportunity to be such an integral part of a staff, who strive for excellence as they work together in facilitating student development and growth and in ensuring an unforgettable learning experience for them.
Chelsea lives under the canopies of the redwood and thoroughly enjoys the gifts that Mother Nature bestows upon us. On weekend mornings, well, she can be found sippin’ on a steaming cup of joe while loungin’ in the midst of the quiet woods. By late morning, she’s spiking balls in competitive matches on the Main Beach Volleyball Courts. With years of experience coaching girl’s teams with Club Cruz Volleyball, we are fortunate and delighted to benefit from her exceptional talents, as she guides our very own Girls’ Varsity Volleyball Team as their Coach.
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit." - Aristotle
