PCS is proud of our successful transition to Distance Learning! Students, teachers, and staff have been working hard to quickly shift into a new way of learning while sheltered in place. In our first week of remote class meetings, we learned a few things that will help us make PCS Distance Learning a better experience for our students.
The first is that Googe Meet does not offer all of the functionality we would like to effectively support remote learning. When students return from Spring Break on Monday, April 13, PCS will begin using Zoom for videoconferencing of remote classes. We are making the shift from Google Meet to Zoom in order to provide the best virtual classroom experience possible and to support the high-quality teaching and learning you have come to expect from PCS.
Although Zoom is similar to Google Meet and students will access and use it in many of the same ways, a student tutorial will be posted on Canvas, and our tech team will be available to provide support during this transition. Teachers may begin migrating to the Zoom platform during the week of March 30-April 3, so students should continue to check Canvas for class links, assignments, and updates.
