Common Core Standards

Common Core State Standards (CCSS), adopted in 2010, is an initiative that establishes a set of educational standards for kindergarten through grade 12 in English Language Arts and Mathematics.

These standards define the knowledge and skills students should have within their K-12 education careers so that they will graduate high school able to succeed in entry-level, credit-bearing academic college courses and in workforce training programs.

Below is information designed to help you understand how these standards will affect your child, what changes you will see and what you can do at home to help your child(ren) in the classroom.
